Our hands-on course is perfect for those looking to start a paint-your-own pottery business or simply gain confidence using ceramic equipment.

What You’ll Learn

Using underglazes and choosing the right bisque and colour combinations
How to glaze and fire your pieces – including tips to avoid common mistakes
How kilns and controllers work + maintenance tips
Health & safety in a ceramics environment
How to market and price your work, plan turnover and set realistic goals
Common troubleshooting tips – from colour issues to kiln faults

Running time: 10:00am to approximately 3:30pm.
(We occasionally run slightly longer depending on group size and questions, but usually wrap up by 3:30 so our team can assist you properly before closing.)

Networking & Community

Each session includes time to chat with other attendees — most of whom are at a similar stage in starting their ceramic business. You’ll leave not just with practical skills, but also new contacts, fresh ideas and the confidence to move forward.

What's Included

Buffet-style lunch and refreshments are included in the cost — please let us know of any dietary requirements or allergies when booking. You can do this by adding notes in the special delivery instructions box at checkout.

You’ll also paint your own piece on the day — we’ll glaze and fire it, then post it to you at no extra charge.

Price:

Cost for the full day is £75.00, however if you place an opening order of £250 or more with us afterwards, we’ll deduct this training cost from your invoice.
