Powdered Raku Glaze for Variable Gold Metallic Effects
Gold Raku Glaze is a dry Milton Bridge glaze for creating a variable gold metallic-effect surface through Raku firing. Its colour and appearance can change considerably between firings, making it suited to ceramic work where an individual fired result is part of the intended design.
Choose the 1kg powder when you need a smaller dry-glaze quantity that can be mixed for the selected application technique. Begin with the recommended ratio, introduce any additional water gradually and test the glaze before important work because changes in application, firing and reduction can affect the result.
- Mix thoroughly before adjusting the consistency
- Add extra water in small, controlled stages
- Record the final mixture and application thickness for comparison tests
