Earthy Ochre with Cream, Blue and Terracotta Effects

Create richly earthy stoneware surfaces with BOTZ Travertin Stoneware Glaze. This ochre-coloured glaze develops blue and cream precipitations alongside warm terracotta-orange undertones, producing a varied natural finish that changes significantly with firing temperature and application thickness.

Apply 2–3 coats, with BOTZ recommending 2 coats for the preferred result. Fire between 1220°C and 1280°C with a 30-minute soak, with the glaze described as most attractive from 1250°C upwards. At 1220°C it produces a slightly greenish ochre-yellow silk-matt surface with very fine effects; at 1250°C predominantly ochre tones develop alongside cream and blue precipitations, with terracotta-orange showing through in thin areas. At 1280°C the surface ranges from silk-matt to glossy with stronger ochre and blue effects, while thin areas and edges can again reveal terracotta-orange. BOTZ advises applying between 1 thick coat and 2 coats when firing at 1280°C.
