Deep Black with Subtle Light Mineral Effects
Create a dark, subtly varied stoneware surface with BOTZ Black Granite Stoneware Glaze. The fired colour is a deep black with small lighter effects and fine tonal variation, giving pottery a softer, more complex appearance than a flat solid black.
Apply 2–3 coats, with BOTZ recommending 3 coats. Fire between 1220°C and 1280°C with a 30-minute soak; BOTZ describes the result as most attractive from 1250°C upwards. At 1220°C the glaze is silk-matt black with small light precipitations, while from 1250°C to 1280°C it remains silk-matt black with light effects. BOTZ describes the finish as silk-matt in its application notes, while the product properties label it satin-glossy.
