It is renowned for its colourful ceramics that date back to the Renaissance, making it the perfect setting for this world-class ceramics event. The town’s long-standing association with majolica — the origin of the word faïence — is reflected in every corner, from its architecture to its vibrant artisan community.
Argillà Italia transforms Faenza’s historic centre into a lively international celebration of ceramics. Across the 4th–6th September 2026, the streets fill with stalls, exhibitions, cultural performances, and a buzzing atmosphere where artists and visitors connect through a shared love of clay.
Highlights of the weekend include the Mondial Tornianti (the world pottery wheel championship), live outdoor kiln firings, interactive workshops, children's activities, and an incredible display of global ceramic artistry — all set against the backdrop of this picturesque Italian town.
